It periodically checks your accounts for new email. Any spam is moved to a holding area for later examination and recovery if needed.

It evaluates the text of each email and other data about the message which might help indicate if its spam or not. SpamButcher can even recognize common tactics used by spammers to bypass spam filters.

SpamButcher can be configured to send you reports of blocked messages via email. With supported email clients, inadvertently filtered messages can be restored directly from the reports.

SpamButcher`s spam blocker utilizes fuzzy logic to identify and remove spam email. This allows it to be more accurate than competing applications.

SpamButcher works to block spam for Windows users whose email accounts are accessed with POP3. This includes most users of non-web-based email accounts.

SpamButcher can not filter spam for AOL or Hotmail accounts.
