A MHTML file in the basic sense is nothing more than an archive containing all of images and text on a website. This archive format was created by Microsoft for Internet Explorer and therefore it is not supported by most other web browsers. If you use a different web browser or are looking to move to a different operating system such as Linux or Mac, you`ll need to convert these files or they will not be recognized.
